Here you can linger for a while and enjoy nature.

A nice place to linger along the route.

You can also go around Lake Uffeln by bike or on foot. From the false dead end "Am Kiesteich" a rather inconspicuous narrow path leads behind the Pömpeln to the "back" of the lake. The path is signposted as "private" and, particularly in the southern section, is very bumpy, unkempt, partly overgrown with thorn bushes and should be approached with caution after rain (large puddles, lots of mud). But there are some beautiful places with a great view of the lake and the nearby Weser. You often meet nice people with dogs here. For me as a dog lover, there is always a friendly chat and you can watch the dogs bathing. You can of course also cycle the path in the opposite direction, but then you have the disgusting gravel track as a downhill stretch right at the beginning - not without its challenges!

Meanwhile, the path connecting the two lakes is so overgrown that it is difficult to drive along it

A small lake to relax at Uffeln on the Weser

The water ski facility Stemmen (Kalletal) between Varenholz Castle or ferry terminal and the Stemmen campsite or Möllenbeck Monastery is a good place for fans of this sport. Of course, you can also just watch the active people from the footpath and cycle path or from the café terrace as they do their rounds or go swimming involuntarily. The season usually runs from the end of March/beginning of April (Easter) to the beginning/mid of October (October 3/Day of German Unity); depending on the weather conditions also shorter. Please note: Outside the opening hours, the gates to the site are closed, so the bike path there is also not passable‼️🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️‼️
