We have ridden this cycle path several times (today only in sections) and I am always enthusiastic. Using the former railway line (which I saw in action myself) as a cycle path was simply a very good idea. In my opinion (!) beautiful route with enough shade and opportunities for breaks, along the way many opportunities to leave the cycle path via exits, information about the history of the railway line along the way. Like I said, we really enjoyed it!

The HOAG route is just one example of the structural change that has taken place in the Ruhr area in recent decades. A green lung in the middle of the area and everywhere you meet silent witnesses of the industrial past.👍

The route is easy to drive and there are plenty of waterfowl to be seen.

Drive up in Oberhausen Holten in the direction of Walsum/Rhein. The track is in very good shape, I can only recommend it 👍🏻
