Mighty rock faces, trass caves to be explored, jungle atmosphere in the Wolfsschlucht with a unique waterfall and bubbling springs along the way. The alternation between dreamy stream valleys and panoramic views is impressive.

This beautiful waterfall is located at the highest point of the Wolfschlucht.

There are numerous beautiful views of the lake along the lake path. The views are particularly attractive in autumn, when there is fog on the lake.

The Wolfsschlucht near Kell is a great hiking destination, to the left and right of the path there are huge rock faces and there is also a waterfall to see!

In June 2020, a large part of the slope broke off and optically changed the valley at the waterfall.

"The sky in the Brohl Valley darkened as the Laacher See volcano erupted just five kilometers away. A blazing-hot mixture of lava particles and gases shot into the atmosphere at intervals. Each time the eruptive column collapsed, the material raced through the surrounding valleys as if on a cushion of air – ash and lava particles filled the valleys up to 60 meters high. The once loose materials of the pyroclastic flow have, over time, baked into a rock known in our region as "trass." The Romans already mined trass in the Brohl Valley and used it, among other things, for house construction. Finely ground, with the addition of lime and water, it produces a mortar that hardens even underwater. It is likely that it was the Dutch who promoted mining in the Brohl Valley since the 16th century, as trass is ideal for building dikes and harbor facilities. They were also the ones who gave the volcanic cement its name: "Tyrass" is Dutch for "glue." The trass walls you see from here have been hollowed out by mining and can be visited. Due to their poor quality, they were no longer of interest for mining and today are an impressive testament to the massive pyroclastic avalanche that once filled the entire valley. https://www.eifel.info/a-trasshoehlen
