Fantastically beautiful view.. priceless

The imposing dam forms the second largest reservoir in Germany in terms of area and the third largest in terms of volume. The wall is now over a hundred years old, 48 meters high and 400 meters long. It is always freely accessible and offers a great view of the surroundings.

From the east side of the Edertalsperre the very beautiful place can be reached via the route with the blue dot. Likewise the pulpit view of the dam of the Edersee. Ascent and descent are quite sporty for the first few meters. But it's worth it. Also because of the wonderful jungle of the national park.

The pulpit with its four thrones and the refuge is a beautiful resting place with a wonderful view of the Edersee and Waldeck Castle.

From the small pulpit you have a fantastic view of the mighty Edersperre wall.

From here you have a really bombastic view of the Edersee. This is one of the most beautiful places around the lake.

For great photos, the ascent to the viewing platform is definitely worth it. However, the trail is very steep in some places and interspersed with numerous large stones and tree roots. It is advisable to take a flashlight with you for the descent. Even when there is a full moon, it is pitch black in the forest. It is advisable to be up well before sunset, as the viewing platform can also be well visited by other hikers. 😊
