"The Stimberghöhe in the northern part of the city of Oer-Erkenschwick is the highest elevation in the Haard at 156.9 meters above sea level. The Haard is a forest area of around 55 km² on hilly terrain, which lies north of the Ruhr area in the district of Recklinghausen. When you visit the Stimberg, you will experience nature and contemporary history - on the edge of the Ruhr area, the largest metropolitan area in the country. The Stimberg has changed a lot in the past decades and centuries. At the top, you can enjoy an impressive view of a small heath landscape. Two different circular routes lead you across the Stimberg plateau. Eight "time travel guides" await you here. They all have an exciting story to tell. Drive through former military area and a shortcut from Hülsten to Lavesum. You need power on the bike and a strong drive!!! Neat climb(s), but also nice jagged descents up to 60 km/h 😳
