The baroque castle was built around 1750. The castle chapel was added to the castle in the neo-Romanesque style from 1883 to 1885. A hospital was later housed here, in which the GDR's second ultrasound device was stationed after Dresden.

Teufelchen New

1月 11, 2026, Neues Schloss Pulsnitz

Pulsnitz Castle, a Renaissance palace, provides a historic setting for sophisticated and comprehensive rehabilitation medicine, available to both publicly and privately insured patients. The Pulsnitz Castle Clinic has been completely renovated and expanded with a swimming pool, gymnasium, and additional therapy rooms and patient rooms. Since its completion in 1993, the clinic has been among the most modern and arguably most beautiful rehabilitation facilities.

The Baroque palace is not the first palace on the site. It was only inaugurated in 1718. Before that, the Eustachius House was the residence of the ruling noble family. During the renovation and reconstruction of the Eustachius House under the Saxon chamberlain Johann Georg von Maxen, building materials were salvaged, which were used for the construction of the new palace. As far as is known, the service rooms were located on the ground floor. The rooms on the upper floor were the living quarters of the ruling family.

The castle, which was once built as a moated castle, has been expanded and rebuilt several times. For many centuries, the Pulsnitz castle lords were based here. After 1945, the buildings served as a military hospital, later as a lung sanatorium and finally rehabilitation after cardiovascular diseases dominated. Today, patients receive neurological and neurosurgical rehabilitation in the completely reconstructed and expanded modern clinic. Source: https://www.pulsnitz.de/kultur-tourismus/sehenswertes.html

The baroque castle was built from 1724 and received a garden in the English and French style with some valuable sandstone sculptures. It can now be rented for guided tours, conferences, seminars, weddings, music events or art exhibitions, among other things. The castle park, on the other hand, offers visitors a 34-station educational trail, whereby each station can come up with interesting facts interactively (through QR codes). It is accessible free of charge all year round.

East of Kamenz lies the small village of Räckelwitz with its castle. Räckelwitz Castle - presumably built around 1750 - with its luminous Maltese cross above the entrance portal is a reminder of the more recent history of use. The castle chapel, which was built in 1885 in the Beuron style, is exceptional. The narrow building with a semi-circular chancel has arched windows. The neo-Romanesque church building wanted to represent a God's castle on the outside. more at: https://www.landurlaub-sachsen.de/kapelle-im-beuroner-stil-raeckelwitz.html

In 2007, the 6th Krabatfest took place at the castle, which was opened by the President of the Saxon State Parliament, Erich Iltgen. A year later, the 100th anniversary of the almost completely renovated castle was celebrated on the private grounds with the local residents.[5] After the death of the owner in 2014, the castle was sold to a Dresden entrepreneurial couple in October 2015

The baroque palace had different owners, by the way, Count Heinrich von Brűhl also bought it, had the banquet hall redesigned in the baroque style by Knödel... Whoever attends a concert there today can enjoy the ambience of the hall. However, Count Brűhl was rarely here, because he stayed more in Dresden or Schloss Pförten, sold it on to Macollini... and, and... Today it belongs to an events company

Eustachius House The old Pulsnitz Castle is also simply called Eustachius House after its builder. The Renaissance-style castle was built around 1600 by Eustachius von Schlieben. The cellar vaults, which were built in the Romanesque style, date from around 1200. At that time, there was supposedly a moated castle and a small Sorbian settlement right here. However, it is difficult to say when the castle and settlement were built. The first castles in this region were built in the 8th or 9th century, for example. The old Pulsnitz Castle was the center of the town and the residence of the local barons for just 100 years. Then the so-called "New Castle" was built. The builder for the successor to the old Pulsnitz Castle was Johann Georg von Maxen, who commissioned the new castle in 1708. It took a full ten years until the baroque castle was completed and the family could move in. Unlike most castles, the original castle was not demolished but was preserved. Today, the premises house a clinic for neurological and neurosurgical rehabilitation. The old Pulsnitz Castle is still surrounded by a park with impressive trees. The park can be visited. The town of Pulsnitz, elevated to town status by Charles IV in 1375, has been known as the "town of gingerbread" since the 17th century. But it is not just the gingerbread that has made Pulsnitz - located between Kamenz and Radeberg north of the A4 - famous. At the beginning of the 13th century, Pulsnitz belonged to the lordship of the noble family of Bernhardus de Polsnitz. His wife was Margarethe, daughter of the burgrave Otto von Dohna. She owned the old Pulsnitz moated castle as her dowry, which probably existed as early as 1200. After it was demolished in the 16th century, only the remains of the walls of the medieval castle remain. The lords of Pulsnitz died out in the 14th century and so in 1344 King John of Bohemia enfeoffed the burgrave Hermann von Golßen with the castle. The knight's seat that developed from it was in the hands of numerous well-known noble families. These included the brothers Eustachius I, Hans Balthasar and Caspar von Schlieben. The Old Castle, the so-called Eustachius Building, goes back to Eustachius von Schlieben - a two-storey Renaissance building on the site of the castle, which was built on an obtuse-angled floor plan. But it was Hans Wolf von Schönberg, who took over the rule in 1580, who completed the building. Above the seating niche portal are his coat of arms and that of his wife Ursula von Carlowitz. The mansard hipped roof dates from the 18th century. A special feature of the castle was its division, which took place in 1640 under the brothers Hans Georg and Wolf Georg von Schönberg. But Wolf von Werthern, who acquired the front castle in 1652 and the rear castle in 1656, was able to quickly remedy this situation and reunite both parts into one whole. After the Old Palace was no longer sufficient as a representative building, the Royal Polish and Electoral Saxon Chamberlain Johann George von Maxen, who inherited Pulsnitz in 1707, built the New Palace. The New Palace is an elongated, two-storey baroque building from 1718. In 1745 the property passed to the von Gersdorf family, who later passed it on to the von Posern family. This family expanded the park in the English style around 1860 and made some alterations to the palace in 1904. Finally, the noble family was expropriated in 1945 during the land reform. The relocation of a lung sanatorium from Schwepnitz to Pulsnitz in 1948 laid the foundation for its continued existence as a hospital.

Räckelwitz was first mentioned in 1280 as Rokolewicz. Since 1304 there was a manor here. In 1719/20 Jacob Eckart von Wobeser auf Räckelwitz was appointed governor of Upper Lusatia.[4] His daughter Eleonore Charlotte (1737-1772) married Friedrich Albrecht von Götz (1728-1780). Her son Ludwig Eckard von Götz (1765–1815)[5] sold the "Erb-, Kunkel- und Spillehngut" (an estate that could be inherited by women) Räckelwitz to Philippina Countess von Bolza, the daughter of Privy Councilor Joseph von Bolza , who married Count Stolberg.[6] The present mansion of Räckelwitz Castle was built around 1750 and in 1784 came into the possession of the Counts of Stolberg. The last owner of this estate, Countess Monika zu Stolberg, a nun in Belgium, had the castle chapel built between 1883 and 1885 and bequeathed the manor to the Order of Malta.[7] In the period from 1903 to 2000, a Catholic hospital of this order was located in the former manor house. After the restoration of the building, since 2008 there has been a large outpatient nursing service of the Maltese and until 2016 a nuns' convent of the Sisters of Providence with a chapel.
