The Baldinger Tor (Balding Gate) in Nördlingen is one of the five historic city gates and was first mentioned in 1376. It secured the road toward Würzburg and Frankfurt am Main and was part of the medieval city fortifications. The outer gate was completed in 1406 by Master Wenceslaus, and a new structure was built in 1430 under the direction of the stonemason Conrad Stenglin. Originally, the gate complex resembled the Berger Tor: a rectangular main gate with an almost square outer gate. The tower was five stories high and supported a circular top with a gun parapet and a tent roof. The gate was damaged during the Thirty Years' War, and in 1703 the tower unexpectedly collapsed – presumably due to inadequate repairs. Five people were killed.

The Klösterle in Nördlingen is the former Franciscan monastery, founded around 1233. Originally dedicated to Saint Nicholas, later to the Virgin Mary, it was an important center of religious life in the town. During the Reformation, the monastery was dissolved in 1536, and the town acquired the building for 50 guilders as a dowry for the remaining three monks. In the following centuries, the Klösterle changed its use several times: Between 1584 and 1587, it was converted into a granary, and later served as a fire station and storage room. Today, the building houses the Nördlingen town hall with a theater stage, as well as a hotel.

Completed in 1379, it originally served as a defensive structure in the north of the city. Today, the gate tower houses the City Wall Museum, which opened in 1987 and documents the history of Nördlingen's city fortifications on six floors.
