With a water area of 5.14 km² and a depth of 62 m, the Schluchsee is the largest Black Forest lake and is also the largest lake in Baden-Württemberg. The Schluchsee as the water sports center in the Black Forest has been one of the cleanest bathing lakes in Germany for years.

The Schluchsee is a reservoir in the municipality of Schluchsee near St. Blasien in the district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald in Baden-Württemberg. It lies southeast of Lake Titisee and is the largest lake in the Black Forest. Since the 1960s, the lake has also served as a tributary for the Schluchseewerk pumped storage power plant. In addition to a natural inflow, the lake is filled with water from the Rhine via various power plant stages
