ハイムバッハの山小屋＆キャビン・トップ20

As with many (viewpoint) locations whose names contain the word "ley" (or "lay"), such a name indicates slate as the underlying rock. Since we are located here – geologically speaking – in the "Rhenish Slate Mountains," the number of corresponding "ley" locations is not surprising.

From the Kuckucksley lookout rock you have a great view of the Oleftal. There is also a shelter here. The climb is easy to do.

This former watermill was built in the 17th century and competed with the older Lukasmühle further down the valley. Destroyed by flames in 1982 - rebuilt and badly damaged in the 2021 flood. Open again on weekends since summer 2023. The gable on the main house is dated 1663. Beautifully restored quarry stone half-timbered building.

Beautiful view of the village of Olef, a narrow, steep path leads down from the Kuckkucksley viewpoint towards Olef. It might get slippery after rain.

In front of the hut there is a seating area with a table and comfortable looking wooden "armchairs"

Shelter on the Schilsbach, the Schilsbachtal goes to Woffelsbach.

From the Pferdekopf vantage point, visitors can enjoy a beautiful view of the Eifel mountains around Kall. When the weather is clear, you can even see the Bay of Cologne. In the immediate vicinity there is a nice, clean refuge with a rest area that invites you to linger.
