Beautiful, well-preserved castle, which you can walk around just below the walls. You can also visit the inside for a fee of €2.50 for adults. The castle is open from March to November (weather permitting). The castle is open on Sundays and public holidays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m It is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Castle is accessible and can be visited. You have a great view. Between the floors there is a beautiful herb garden. A part is integrated into a rock. A newer building, the "long house", houses, among other things, holiday apartments.

There is something special about hiking on the preserved remains of the walls of the ramparts, some of which are still ten meters high. The ring wall runs around the area of the former Celtic settlement over a length of over four kilometers. The ramparts consist of a deep ditch (“Hunnenschlucht”) with a spring, foreangle, rocks with a wing wall, rock bastion, forest section, “Hüll” (waterhole), quarries and four gates. There are well-made display boards with relevant explanations in various places.

Hohenstein Castle is one of the most striking architectural monuments in the Nuremberg region. After the castle was left to decay for decades in the first half of the 19th century, it is now renovated and accessible again. In addition to visiting the castle, weddings in the chapel and civil weddings in the castle parlor are possible there. In part of the complex, the so-called Long House, which the association acquired in 2005, cultural events as well as seminars and conferences are possible after its extensive renovation. Wikipedia
