The Schwietersberg is 52 m high.

It measures almost 100 meters and consists of two well-preserved megalithic chambers connected by a long stone corridor. The size of the complex suggests that this megalithic tomb was the burial place of a tribal chieftain or clan leader. The flat interiors of the supporting stones are clearly visible in the burial chambers. There is a theory that the tomb was aligned with the summer solstice on June 21st at the time of its creation.

Anyone wishing to explore the mystery of the Restrup Bowl Stone should not do so in the dark. For at night, so the story goes, the devil sits on his "Deuvelstain" and ponders his day's work. It is here that he also forges plans for his next evil deeds. And woe betide anyone who disturbs him. If his plans don't go as he envisions, he becomes furious. Out of anger, but sometimes out of boredom, he presses holes into the stone that are clearly visible. There are further explanations for the interpretation, but its true function remains uncertain. Directly adjacent is the Restrup megalithic tomb, which unfortunately is only partially preserved.

The gorge systems, called Tangen, are typical of this area, which is now a nature reserve. Tang is Low German and means "pincer" or "branch." The term describes the waterways that originated in the Maiburg and cut deep, branching valleys into the terminal moraine landscape. An information board on site provides detailed information about the formation of the Ankum Heights and the Maiburger Tangen.

This is where the fox's trail through the Maiburg begins. The Maiburg is a 1,000-hectare forest area, over half of which is managed by the Lower Saxony State Forests. The forest nature trail, which begins here, was created in 1968 in close cooperation with the municipality of Bippen. The "Witches' Dance Ground" is located on the Qualenberg (Torment Mountain). It was believed that witches, the devil's servants, held their pagan festivals at this spot. The May celebrations on Walpurgis Night may have given the mountain its name "Maiberg," today "Maiburg."
