After a fire in 1678, the market square was rebuilt. Today there is the tourist information, gastronomy and small shops with a wide range of different goods.

Former chain bridge for water supply in Weilburg.

Today's pedestrian bridge was originally built in 1784 as part of the baroque water supply, and at that time it was the first chain bridge on the European continent.
