The Wildenloh is probably the remainder of a vast forest area that stretched from Oldenburg to Klein-Scharrel around 8,000 years ago and disappeared into the expanding Wildenloh Moor. Very nice view from the Charles Bridge onto the floodplain. It's hard to believe that seaworthy ships were brought to the North Sea via this small river in the 19th century. They were built in Edewecht.
