The climb from Iburger Straße to the radio relay station is paved and also doable by road bike. StatsHunters can also earn a tile here. Here you climb the highest elevation in the central part of the Teutoburg Forest and can enjoy beautiful views on the way to the summit (approx. 309 m). Some large patches in the asphalt require special caution on the descent.

The first section runs along a quiet country road surrounded by vineyards. After crossing the L96, the second section begins on a forest path that is car-free but has a poorer surface. Caution is advised, especially when descending. There are some beautiful views along the way. The route ends at the fence of the transmission tower.

Given this height, it is not surprising that there is also a tower with transmitting and receiving antennas here.

The hike from Oesede Süd - Brunnen car park - to the Hermannsturm on the Dörenberg and further on the ridge path towards Achter de Welt, from there to the Baumanns Knollen refuge and then towards the Varusturm is also nice.

MAGNIFICENT views towards the north of Osnabrück and the Wiehengebirge.

It doesn't look nice from the water but the forest is really nice to drive

The Grafensundern is 314.9 m above sea level. NHN[1] after the Dörenberg (331.2 m) the second highest mountain in the Iburg Forest, a foothill of the Teutoburg Forest. It belongs to the municipality of Hagen am Teutoburg Forest in the Lower Saxony district of Osnabrück.
