The history of meteorological observations here on Śnieżka begins in 1824, but the first observatory was here since 1900. This one is named after Tadeusz Hołdys, who directed it for many years. Beautiful views!

A prominent landmark of the Černá Hora and a frequent destination of our trips when we are in the Krkonoše Mountains

The Černá hora transmitter is located at an altitude of 1299 m above sea level on Černá hora in the Krkonoše Mountains. The total height of the tower from the ground including the antennas is 78.3 m. The lower polyhedral pyramid is 35.7 m high. It provides broadcasting of television and radio programs in the Hradec Králové Region and the surrounding area. In front of the transmitter is a realistic statue of a mother and child, cast by Vladimír Sochor according to a design by Jan Hána
