Basedow Castle is a real eye-catcher and beautiful to look at. Together with Lenné Park and the small village with the village church, it forms a wonderful ensemble. Unfortunately, the castle itself can only be partially visited as part of a guided tour. But it is also worth seeing from the outside. There is a small path leading directly around the castle. The park is free and freely accessible and it is also worth taking a long walk here. The reflection of the castle in the adjacent village pond is also beautiful!👌 - why they have created several highlights for the same thing here is a mystery to me, as it is completely unnecessary! -

Ulrichshusen Castle is actually a manor house. It is beautifully situated on the Ulrichshusen Lake. The castle is used as an upscale hotel. But there is not just the castle with the small castle garden directly adjacent. Rather, it is an entire ensemble on the Ulrichshusen estate. Here you will find a good café and restaurant, among other things. The other outbuildings are used for various public events such as the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival.

The town hall of Güstrow is a successor to the first town hall, which was built in the 13th century. The current seat of the Güstrow city administration was inaugurated in 1798 and is located in the center of the Mecklenburg town, right in the town center. Güstrow Cathedral is part of the North German brick Gothic style and has a rich interior from the late Romanesque period to the modern era, including Ernst Barlach's Floating Man. It is spread out on the southern edge of the city and exudes a great sense of calm. The cathedral square is a special ensemble in the city. Here is the oldest school in Mecklenburg, the former court of Wallenstein, and within sight we find the Renaissance castle. The cathedral was founded in 1226 and consecrated in 1335. In 1568 it became the Protestant court church and burial place for the Güstrow royal family until 1695, when the Güstrow line died out. Cyclists are not welcome here. Although the cycle path runs along the edge of the site, there is a locked gate and an additional barrier.
