We hope that the tower, together with the avenue and some of the surrounding historic buildings, will be saved from further deterioration and used appropriately.
Note also the lantern, original DDR standard model, which disappears due to its technical inadequacies everywhere out of the cityscape, but I actually like the design.

The castle itself was destroyed by fire in 1940. The gate tower has been preserved.

The tower is one of the remains of the former castle that burned down in 1940. Otherwise, only the north wing of the castle remains, which will be renovated in accordance with monument regulations once an investor has been found.
The beautifully preserved castle park with its alleys and old trees also leaves a lasting impression. Art lovers will also get their money's worth in the park.
