The renaturalized part of the Niers has become an absolute gem, especially with the currently prevailing autumn colors it is beautiful here and thank God it is (still?) not so crowded.

Beautiful cycling and hiking trails partly on both sides of the Niers. Mostly water-bound path surface. The Niers is a calm river with a slight gradient, so that you think it is asleep and is not as active as the Rur and its tributaries. In Mönchengladbach the Niers is partly canalized and here and there renaturalized and has a canal-like, dead-straight course.

Great cycle path along the Niers, which is wide enough for everyone and has a very good surface of fine gravel.

Really nice section. Just go straight ahead, nice, wide path. But be careful when it gets dark. Make sure you have proper lights on your bike ;)
