The bicycle highway along the dike. Wide, smooth tarmac road, with the occasional sheep gate and the occasional crossing animal. Overall, perfect for a brisk road bike ride!

Small paths and numerous benches invite you to stroll and enjoy the park. The castle, built in 1461, stood within the well-preserved ramparts. The castle served as a fortress and base on the nearby border with the Jeverland region. In 1764, Wittmund Castle was demolished by order of Frederick the Great. The trees were only planted in the 20th century. The ramparts have recently been made safe to walk on. The existing castle park is used for musical events in the summer, among other things.
