5月 31, 2025, Vorder Glärnisch Summit
The panoramic view of several valleys from the summit cross is something magical and special. The climb, with its almost constant glimpse of waterfalls, is a refreshing relief from the steep effort. Rarely can you hike 1,300 meters up and down and, incidentally, park for free right at the foot of the mountain, where the trail starts. There's also a barbecue area right at the waterfall's outlet.

3月 4, 2025, Martinsmadhütte
Martinsmadhütte is an Alpine hut located at 2,002 metres above sea level in the Glarus Alps, above Elm in the canton of Glarus, Switzerland. Built in 1907 and expanded in 1938, the hut is operated by the Randen section of the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC) and offers 48 beds during the summer season. It is an ideal starting point for hikes in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Tektonikarena Sardona. Access to the hut can be facilitated by using a small cable car up to the Nideren Alp, followed by a hiking trail. Facilities include a breakfast buffet, but there are no showers; a stream behind the hut offers an option for cooling off.

2月 8, 2025, Vorder Glärnisch Summit
The Vorder Glärnisch is a prominent peak in the Glarus region. As it lies directly below the majestic Glärnisch, it may not be that interesting as a summit destination at first glance. A white-blue-white marked path leads up from the northwest. Sure-footed and vertigo-free alpine hikers with as little fear of heights as possible can also reach it from the southeast via Schwänder Sienen, Chilchli, Garenplatz and Hanslirus.

Beautiful lake with a great panorama. Very algae-covered though. It's great for hiking around, and definitely nice for children too.

Braunwald GL at 1256 m above sea level. M Today's place name was first mentioned in 1421 as Brunwald and probably goes back to an Old High German composition *brunnōn-walt 'forest with springs'. Braunwald originally belonged to the Tagwen (civil community) Niederlinthal. In 1690 and 1718 the part of Linthal south of the Brummbach, the majority of Rüti and the rest of Diesbach and Betschwanden were allocated. From 1725, individual families lived in Braunwald all year round. The "Führlihaus" built in 1780 has been under homeland protection since 1973. In 1839 a school cooperative of the village community was established. Two years later, the Braunwalder children moved out of the Betschwand schoolroom they had been using up to then. The school set up at that time (“Sackhäuschen”) received its own building in 1857. Today the hotel “Tödiblick” stands there. In 1875, the forest corporation Braunwald, which was founded in the same year, acquired forest rights from Tagwens Rüti GL. It formed the original cell of the 1939 created local, civil and constituency communities Braunwald. Braunwald became its own municipality when it was separated from Rüti in 1939. Together with Rüti, the village still takes care of the welfare system. On the occasion of the creation of a Rüti–Braunwald mountain trail in 1895, the trail corporation that still existed was convened for the first time. The drainage corporation, which has existed since 1981, has its roots in the period around 1902 (construction of the Braunwaldbahn, BrB, and the "Bellevue" hotel), when the sliding subsoil of the southern part of the Braunwalder Terrasse was noticed.
