The Weinbiet Tower is a historic landmark located at the top of the Weinbiet mountain range. Built from red sandstone between 1870 and 1874, the tower offers fantastic views over the Rhine plain and the Palatinate Forest.

A somewhat inconspicuous peak or small mountain ridge. There is a stone here with the inscription “E. Scherr / 1942 [?] / P. W. D.” (of the Palatinate Forest Association Diedesfeld?). Below this summit there is a rest bench with a view of the Rhine plain on one side and the PWV hut on the other side.

Once you have arrived at the Kalmit, you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the Upper Rhine Valley. The Kalmithaus is located at 673 m on the Palatinate Wine Trail and is the highest hut in the Palatinate Forest. It is the first and oldest hiking hut in the region. The house was inaugurated in 1908. Guests can enjoy Palatinate dishes or changing daily specials and game specialties inside and on the patio with a panoramic view.

The (Great) Kalmit is 672.6 m above sea level. NHN height the highest mountain in the Palatinate Forest and after the Donnersberg the second highest peak in the Palatinate region.

The Ludwigsturm is a 15 meter high observation tower made of sandstone on the southern flank of the Blattsberg summit plateau in the Haardt, the eastern edge of the Palatinate Forest. Great destination between Leistadt and Höningen. Small indoor area, large outdoor area with a small schnapps hut .... which invites you to hut evenings in winter, the campfire and the offered grill specialties round off the whole thing. There is a large parking lot on site, usually overcrowded on a good day, so there is usually wild parking. Many well-marked hiking trails around, the Bismarck Tower and TV Tower are the closest. The Monster Lake for people with more fitness.

Tip: come here during the week and enjoy the wonderful view. The popular viewing point is very busy when the weather is good and on weekends.
