The organ located on the western gallery was built between 1672 and 1673 by the Leipzig organ builder Christoph Donat. It is one of the most important historic organs in Brandenburg. The facade was probably created by Christian Mätzschke. The instrument was rebuilt in 1873 and reconstructed, restored, and expanded by Schuke Orgelbau from 1959 to 1977. Reconstruction of the various construction stages The slider-chest instrument has 44 stops on three manuals and a pedal. The action is mechanical.[1][2] The organ features mechanical elements that are activated when played. For example, angel figures guide trumpets to their mouths, and the sun and moon begin to rotate. In the church's choir is an altarpiece dating from 1670. It was made by the Doberlug-based cabinetmaker Abraham Jäger. The painting was done by Christoph Krause from Großenhain. Abraham Jäger also created the wooden baptismal font, which is located in the center of the choir. Andreas Schultze from Torgau created the gilded pulpit between 1664 and 1666 as his masterpiece. Christian Mätschke from Leipzig was responsible for the painting and gilding. While the pulpit steps, the supports, and the pulpit basket were made of sandstone, the pulpit door and the sounding board were made of wood. The church also contains various epitaphs and tombstones dating from the period between 1750 and 1850. Galleries with boxes are built into the side aisles. The first documented mention of a church dedicated to St. Nicholas and St. Mary in Luckau dates back to 1291. However, only the western portal, consisting of a pointed arch, and the tower base constructed of granite ashlars have survived from this period. Construction of the nave was completed in the middle of the 14th century, but was replaced in the same century by a three-aisled nave with five bays. The western towers were also now built of brick, with only the granite base remaining. After 1375, further extensive renovations took place. A sacristy was added to the north side. In particular, the nave was extended by four bays to the east. The nave was given a three-sided chancel enclosure, the side aisles were built around the chancel, and the ambulatory was enclosed on five sides. The church's western gable was added in the 15th century. Furthermore, the building received a steep gable roof. It was vaulted with pear-shaped ribs. A chapel was built on the north side, which was raised to two stories after a fire in 1477. By connecting the outward-projecting buttresses, four additional small chapels were created on the south side of the building. In 1644, another fire occurred, in which the church building suffered severe damage and, in particular, the original medieval furnishings were lost. Reconstruction of the church began in 1656 and ultimately lasted until 1770. The south tower, which collapsed in the fire, was rebuilt by Christian Bärgt. Hans Petzsch, a master mason from Korbitz, installed simple cross vaults in the central eastern part of the building in 1670. Upon completion, the interior of the church was plastered and whitewashed. The choir portal features sharpening grooves (pest grooves) and small bowls. In December 2005, St. Nicholas' Church was named "Monument of the Month" by the "Cities with Historic City Centers" working group. The plastered chapel was given a volute gable during the renovation in 1697. The two portals on the north and south sides have aedicular framing, with Tuscan columns in the north. The Hausmann Tower is a five-story octagonal tower on a rectangular base, with a semicircular stair tower at the northwest corner. The upper floors of the tower are decorated with pointed arches. The tower is topped with a spire with a double lantern, a turret ball, and a weather vane. The nave of the chapel was vaulted with a star vault during the renovation in the late 15th or early 16th century, and the chancel is covered with a reticulated vault.[3] The tower bay was subsequently structurally separated and is barrel-vaulted. On the site of St. George's Chapel, there was previously a wooden church from the 12th century, the foundations of which were uncovered during construction work in 1996. The chapel was probably built at the beginning of the 13th century and was referred to as a capella in a document from 1386. The Hausmann Tower, built in the Gothic style with internally reinforced walls, was built around 1500. After the Reformation, its function as a place of worship was abandoned. In 1656, the tower was raised to 47 meters, and from 1697 onwards it served as a watchtower. During the conversion to the main watchtower, St. George's Chapel was given a Baroque makeover.[1] A watchman was employed on the tower, who primarily served as a fire watchman. This watchman was not removed until 1910 with the installation of a clock. The building remained the fire station of the Luckau Volunteer Fire Department until 1935. During the Second World War, the Hausmann Tower was temporarily manned again. In 1969, the tower was rebuilt, and since then, the chapel has served as the small banquet hall of the town of Luckau and is used, among other things, for civil marriages.[2] In 1996, the tower was renovated again. A tour and a climb up the tower are possible. Source: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georgenkapelle_(Luckau)

6月 16, 2025, Luckau Town Hall
In 1913, the interior of the town hall was redesigned and the rooms reorganized. Plans for an expansion of the building began in 1939, but were shelved, partly due to the outbreak of World War II, which broke out shortly thereafter. In 1969, the facade was renovated, and a thorough restoration of the town hall was carried out between 1996 and 1997.[2] The facade, windows, roof, and sanitary facilities were repaired, the heating and electrical systems were replaced, and the town hall was made barrier-free. On November 30, 1996, the town hall cellar was reopened. View from the south (2008) The exterior of the town hall is structured by ashlar plaster, cornices, and a main cornice with a dentil frieze. The windows are flat-arched on the ground floor and round-arched on the upper floors. The arcades, supported by pilasters, were bricked up in 1922, and windows were installed there. The low, four-story town hall tower was added as part of the extension; the two lower floors are part of a historic 17th-century extension. Inside, the vaulted former town hall cellar from the Gothic predecessor building has been preserved. The town hall hall, built in 1852, originally occupied the entire central section of the town hall. In 1922, part of the hall was separated off as a corridor.[3] Source: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rathaus_Luckau

On May 28, 1403, a town hall in Luckau was first mentioned. It was initially damaged in a fire in 1644, and eight years later, it burned down completely. In the following period, the town hall was rebuilt in the late Renaissance style, and on November 11, 1675, the knob was placed on the town hall tower. Between 1694 and 1698, the building was gradually expanded, including the addition of a bushel measure at the entrance. After the abolition of the patrimonial courts and the introduction of the royal court martial in Luckau in 1849, the town hall building was expanded by 1852 to accommodate the increasing administrative tasks, and the building acquired its current appearance.[1] Source: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rathaus_Luckau
