Those who take their time will find a church in Krugau that doesn't boast, but rather carries the spirit. The massive fieldstone walls speak of centuries, wind and weather – and a village community with a permanent place. The tower with its red roof sits like a silent sentinel over the crossroads. Inside, a baroque altar awaits, adorned with more gold than one might expect – but even that doesn't seem artificial here, but rather down-to-earth. And if you're lucky, you might spot the stork perched atop the mast. It doesn't get more Brandenburg than this.

The Groß-Leuthen Church is one of Brandenburg's open churches. It opens at 10:00 a.m. It's worth taking a look inside.

Beautiful cycle path along the river

It's a very beautiful route, only the small bridges were tiring on the bikes.

A beautiful bike path between Lübbenau and Burg, nestled in the heart of the Spree canals. Busy, yet idyllic.

Groß Lubolz, as a border town in the Prussian territory, received its own church, while the Klein Lubolzer in the Saxon territory went to church in the densely populated Lübben.
