Trutzbingen is the ruin of a round tower at the edge of Münster-Sarmsheim toward Bingen am Rhein. It is the remnant of a customs barrier built in 1493. The half-shell of a round tower has been preserved. Since 2002, Trutzbingen has been part of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley UNESCO World Heritage Site. The church presumably had a predecessor building dating back to 1066. The oldest part of the church today is Romanesque and dates back to the 12th century.
