The Arch of Victory, also known as Puerta de la Moncloa or Arco del Triunfo, is a monument located in Madrid. It was built between 1950 and 1956 to commemorate the victory of the rebel side over the Republican side in the Spanish Civil War.

Authentic crossroads of many paths.

Next to the Museum of America, there is the monument to Vasco Núñez de Balboa from Extremadura, recognized as the discoverer of the Pacific Ocean. Under the bronze statue that represents the explorer you can find a small pond, close to a larger one and surrounded by gardens.

The monument was made in 1970 and donated by Dª Rafaela Azcúe for the celebrations of the Hispanic Heritage Festival that same year.

The Dehesa de la Villa park, located to the northwest of the city, in the Ciudad Universitaria area, has impressive views of Madrid and its mountains that can be enjoyed from this viewpoint, popularly known as the Cerro de los Locos or de las Balas, which rejoined the park in 1998.

The museum was created in April 1941, taking shape an idea that had been brewing for a very long time with different names such as the Ultramar Library Museum or the Archaeological Museum of the Indies. In 1943, architects Luis Moya and Luis Martínez Feduchi were commissioned to design the current museum headquarters, beginning the same year and finishing in 1954.
