Good vantage point

The Rigiblick cable car runs from Universitätstrasse up to Rigiblick in Zurich's Oberstrass district. Since it opened in 1901, it has been modernized several times. In 1979, it was put into operation as the first fully automatic cable car in Switzerland and is used by around 600,000 passengers a year.

From the Orelli fountain you can enjoy a fantastic panorama over Lake Zurich and the Alps beyond - Rigi, Pilatus, Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. The fountain commemorates Susanna Orelli-Rinderknecht, who founded the Zurich Women's Association in 1894. The association offered women apprenticeships, social security and regular working hours - a progressive approach to professional equality at the time.

In Zurich, heritage does not stop at the city limits. In the forest, during a walk, you can find little gems like this stone bridge.
