Slater’s Bridge is a beautiful, incredibly charming, ancient packhorse bridge over the River Brathy just a short walk from Little Langdale. It is built mainly of slate, has a 15 foot (4.6 m) high main arch and includes a natural boulder midstream bridged by flat slate slabs. It is thought to have been built by local miners to access the slate quarries nearby back in the 17th century. There are fine views nearby out towards Blake Rigg and Holme Fell to the south and Lingmore Fell to the north.
