On the Sommerberg, the northern Black Forest is revealed from a reverse perspective along a 1.2 km stretch. The tour culminates at the observation tower, 40 meters high, offering a spectacular 360-degree view over the endless forests and impressive valleys of the Black Forest. Those who wish can slide down the tower for €2.

Located directly on the Enz Valley Cycle Path, a short stop at the Enz River is always worthwhile.

"Bike path" is a bit of a euphemism. Wide tires and suspension are definitely an advantage here. The path is really rough in places. Downhill, towards Calmbach, it's smooth, but you get quite jolted in places. Uphill, towards Aichhalden, on the other hand, it's strenuous due to the surface. I ride here often, but I find the gravel quite annoying. Only the section between Agenbacher Sägemühle and the campsite (Hofstett intersection) has nice, fine gravel and is accordingly enjoyable.

The view of the valley from up there is always beautiful, but the path... The beautiful, smooth, new bike path is followed by a dirt track beyond the tracks. It's particularly bad down there (Alte Höfener and Jahnstr.). Oh well, at least you avoid the busy federal highway, which you'd rather not bother with. Unfortunately, it's not the only road in such a desolate condition in Calmbach/Wildbad (the same applies to Höfen and Neuenbürg).

The scenery is beautiful, and you barely notice the busy main road on the other side of the river. The route towards Calmbach is almost effortless, as it's always slightly downhill. Unfortunately, it can get quite bumpy, and wide tires, if not good suspension, are a plus.

I would definitely recommend driving along there 😃 … simply beautiful!
