The bell tower stands alone

Particularly recommended at dusk with a view of the adjacent streets.

Amtturm-Museum Lüchow The Lüchow Official Tower is the last remnant of the former Lüchow Castle, which fell victim to the great city fire of 1811. The tower was built as a retirement home for the ducal widows. It later served as the seat of the Lüchow bailiff.

The official garden with the official tower is definitely worth a visit. Personally, I found the "old official garden", before the renovation, even nicer. The Drawehner Jeetzel flows through the Amtsgarten, and there are almost always lots of ducks frolicking about on it. But there are also other species of birds to be seen here, the last time I was here I could, for example, watch a great egret catching a perch from the Drawehner Jeetzel and then eating it on the bank.

Gothic brick church with the peculiarity that the bell tower, a former gate tower, was used about 100 m away.

The tower is located in a well-tended, small park that is worth visiting.

Solitary bell tower of St. John's Church. The church itself is a little further away, east of the Amtsgarten, on a square behind the row of houses where the tower is (An der St. Johanniskirche). At the bottom of the tower, the southern pedestrian walkway on Kalandstrasse leads through a passageway with graffiti.
