It is a great place to take a short break at Lake Gartower.

A beautiful forester's lodge dating from 1830, which is therefore a listed building. It is particularly striking in the summer months thanks to its colorful garden. Under a chestnut tree, a large wooden bench seating area offers a pleasant place to rest. Nearby, you'll also find a very interesting wood carving!

A tour around the Gartower See is definitely worth it.

The landscape here is beautiful, but unfortunately the tower is not very high, so the view from there is not too far. Nevertheless, it is a beautiful place and you can use the tower for a break during a bike tour or hike, for example, and with a bit of luck you can also see wild animals or various bird species from there.

A beautiful path leads around the Gartower See, which you can explore on foot or by bike. A very beautiful area, with many interesting photo opportunities. There are also great opportunities to photograph wild animals and birds here, but unfortunately I haven't gotten my lens on the beaver yet. Coypu, on the other hand, are more common (many people confuse them with the beaver).

Lake Gartower is the largest lake in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district. A beautifully situated lake with many recreational opportunities (hiking, cycling, photography, sailing, canoeing, swimming, etc.). There are hiking and cycling trails around the lake. Lake Gartower also offers great motifs for nature and landscape photographers, including many species of birds.
