A nice place to rest

About three kilometers behind Holzminden, you drive along the Weser dike and have a wonderful view of the Weser and the Weserbergland.

There's a small bicycle ferry in Heinsen, which is also very convenient if you don't want to take the car ferry in Polle. Or if it's not running due to low tide.

A wonderful sculpture of everyday people in Holzminden, along with a few other treats and sights, is worth a visit.

The Luther Church stands in the center of Holzminden and is reliably open during the summer months. Documentary evidence suggests that a church building stood on this site as early as the 11th century. The church may originally have been dedicated to Mary, as suggested by a stone on the southwest corner of the tower dating from 1506. This stone bears the inscription "MDVI Maria." This name was likely forgotten during the Reformation. With the incorporation of the village of Altendorf in 1922, the church, previously known simply as the town church, received the name Luther Church, which it still bears today. The Weser promenade promises a holiday atmosphere. Located directly at the intersection between the pedestrian zone and the popular Weser cycle path, the Fragrance Garden is an attractive meeting place for all generations.
