Evening swim at Ditfurter See

Around Lake Ditfurt there are many small bathing bays, which also invite you to linger, relax and watch the birds

Beautiful beach with a snack bar and plenty of benches. Judging by the parking, it seems to be quite busy in good weather.

A Boniface church was mentioned for Ditfurt as early as the 12th century. It was built by monks from the Fulda monastery. The early Gothic church tower to the west of the nave, with its 15-meter-high tower stump, comes from this previous building. Its sound arcades made of pointed arches and columns are striking. The church, located on the important historical trade route from Leipzig to Braunschweig, had large land holdings in the 15th century through donations. In 1569, construction of a new Boniface church began, using parts of the previous building and parts of the dilapidated St. Nicholas Church. The new church was inaugurated in 1582. In 1683, the first organ was installed by the Quedlinburg organ builder J. Decker. A new organ with 24 voices was installed as early as 1713. The church was extended to the east in 1759. A sacristy was built, and a new pulpit and altar were also purchased. The Köthen organ builder J. Ch. Zuberbier installed a new organ in 1759. In 1835 a new baptismal font was purchased, and in 1850 the tower received a golden tower knob. In 1862 a new organ was installed again. Adolf Reubke from Hausneindorf added a pneumatic organ to the existing baroque facade. Due to structural problems, the church was in danger of collapsing in 1896. It was decided to build a new church. The current church building was built between 1901 and 1903 as a three-aisled hall church. The new church, which has 500 seats, was inaugurated on August 11, 1903. The church received a circulating air heating system below the chancel. From 1974 to 1979 the church tower was given a copper roof and renovated. From 1990 onwards various renovation work was carried out on the church building. The mold was removed, and the listed heating system, the tower clock and the sacristy were repaired. In 1999, the church received a second bell, which dates back to the 12th century. Very pretty half-timbered building, dated 1534, with late Gothic figures of saints.

Not quite as many rocks as the other side but with a beautiful dry grassland area.

Because the cliffs are not so well known, it is very beautiful there. You can enjoy the view and the surroundings.
