There's no guarantee that you'll see manatees here, but this small park along the Indian River Lagoon makes a nice rest spot nonetheless. If interested, there is a small cove where you can go to take a chance at spotting some sea cows.

Anyone with even a passing interest in NASA and space flight will have a great time here. There's much more than one could hope to explore in a single day, so if you have the time, spending two days would be ideal. There are interactive exhibits, tours, IMAX movies, and historical displays; so a little something for everyone.

The Hubert Humphrey Bridge was built in 1962, and in 1968, Hubert H. Humphrey dedicated it. The Merritt Island Causeway connects Cocoa, Merritt Island, and Cocoa Beach.

Mathers Bridge is a 700-foot-long drawbridge with nice views of the Telemar Bay Marina and waters. Be sure to check to see if the bridge has had any changes in the opening schedule before your ride across it.

South Tropical Trail is an incredibly unique road that runs north-south along a tiny, tiny strip of land that comprises the southernmost point of Merritt Island. Surrounded by the Intracoastal and Banana Rivers, you're never very far away from the water as you ride down this unique residential street.

Merritt Island is a long peninsula surrounded by waters home to wildlife like dolphins and manatees and a nighttime bioluminescent glow of glowing plankton that illuminates the water in bright blue. The southern end has a very tropical feel and can be enjoyed via the South Tropical Trail all the way to Dragon Point.
