In a spectacular operation at the beginning of August 2023, the new Schaffner Bridge was installed as a replacement for the Lochbach Bridge, which was demolished in 2019. It once again provides a pedestrian connection to Lake Mandicho. The new bridge is part of an overall concept, the nature trail. The realization of the nature trail was only possible with funding from LEADER and the Association for the Safeguarding of Regional Recreational Areas for the Augsburg Region (EVA). Many private donors contributed financially to the new construction of the Schaffner Bridge. The names of the donors are listed on an obelisk.
