かつての王立鍛冶場は1800年頃に新ゴシック様式で建てられ、城への中庭からの眺めを持つ装飾建築として機能しました。1911年以来、ゴシック様式の家と付属のホールは宿屋として利用されています。古い宿屋 - ここでルイーゼ女王はボウリングをし、フォンターネは宿泊しました。

Ice cellars for storing natural ice were, before the invention of refrigeration, the privilege of kings and wealthy landowners. Later, ice cellars were also built for communal use. This is likely the case with the ice cellar located behind the Paretz barn in the Rohrhaus garden. It is one of three ice cellars that once existed in Paretz. While the two located in the royal gardens no longer exist, the ice cellar built around 1850 was restored by the Historical Paretz Association in 2007 and opened as a small museum in 2010. The so-called "Gothic House" was built in 1803 based on the model of English period buildings. The building is a stuccoed structure with a rectangular floor plan and a half-hipped roof. The hall extension dates from 1910. It was originally the royal blacksmith's shop, and around 1910 it became part village blacksmith's shop and part inn. After 1918, it was simply an inn, and since 1938, it has been a family-owned restaurant and beer garden. The building is a listed building.

The enchanted Parez, the retreat of the "bourgeois" Hohenzollern couple Friedrich Wilhelm III and his still popular Luise, is a little-visited Biedermeier gem. In its 200 years, little has changed in the village. The Gothic house stands out clearly from the other buildings with its design.

It is interesting how ice was salvaged from the lake and stored for the summer in the days of kings and afterwards.

Queen Luise and her family regularly spent the summer months in Paretz Palace and Park. They turned their backs on courtly life in Berlin for a few months a year and enjoyed the peaceful and almost bourgeois life in the country. The complex was built with high aesthetic standards: the palace and park were intended to be a royal country seat and a prime example of Prussian rural architecture. You can't tell from the outside how great it is inside. Definitely take the time for a guided tour, it is extremely exciting. A fantastic carriage museum included.
