The Wupatzsee is always worth a trip, especially with school-age children. The Wupatz nature trail teaches children and parents a lot of interesting facts about the animals and plants that live there. But be careful, in some places, especially at the edge of the Wupatzsee, it is slippery and muddy.

In this part of the Löcknitztal there are several pastures where sheep are kept as landscape stewards. The pastures are accessible and the hiking trail leads across the pastures. Please always close the gates at both ends!!

In the Löcknitztal nature reserve, the Löcknitz has largely retained its original course and natural bank structures for around 20 km. The river was first mentioned in 1247 under the name Lokeniz, and in 1652 with the current spelling.
