There are no records of the construction of the Groß Denkte church. Legend tells that it was built from the stones of the Asseburg Castle, which was destroyed in the early Middle Ages. Formerly transformer and transfer stations, now graffiti artworks. Colorful, individual, and eye-catching – words that aren't necessarily the first things that come to mind for the residents of Wolfenbüttel when they think of our transformer and transfer stations. We wanted to change that. Since 2017, we've been integrating the technical systems more and more into the cityscape – together with the artists from ART-EFX in Potsdam. In recent years, we selected several transformer stations, for which we then developed detailed designs. Horse paddocks, a theater stage, and a half-timbered house with a watermill are just a few of the creative artworks that also serve as protection against uncontrolled graffiti. The vibrant image designs are intended to blend into the surroundings and, in harmony with nature, bring joy to young and old.
