Very beautifully designed sculptures

Master forester Andy Assmann creates wooden works of art with a chainsaw and also impressed in the challenge show "Chainsaw Masters." Andy Assmann is very proud of his participation in the "Chainsaw Masters," a competition currently broadcast on the ARD media library. Here, the Tiefenbach native competed against seven other "carvers" from Germany. "Chainsaw carving" translates to "chainsaw carving." Oak trunks are favored in the show, but other tree species also challenge the participants. It was a home game, so to speak, for the young Hunsrück native, as the competition arena and filming location was the Lauschhütte near Daxweiler. Ralf Möller, actor and former Mister Universe, is the show's host and one of three jury members who had to decide who would be literally sawed off at the end of the day. "Filming took several days," reveals Andy Assmann, "but the time limits for the challenges were realistic." Some sculptures can be seen here.

The Roman remains and foundations are beautiful to look at and well explained by a sign. They are only visible at the last moment as the path passes by.
