"Surrounded by numerous former farmworkers' cottages, the entire village has been a listed historical ensemble since 1985. Approximately 50 residents live in the 11 village houses and the old dairy. The estate includes not only the farmyard with its agricultural fields and the partially preserved sections of the historic park dating from the first half of the 18th century, but also about 230 hectares of mixed forest. There is a lot of reed on this side of the shore... if it is not too high, you have a beautiful view over the entire length of Lake Eutin.

I'd only ever seen painted cows like these at numerous Swiss locations... lovely to see the two of them frolicking in front of the Dieksee promenade.
