Partly very natural

The Nordoe Inland Dunes (or often simply called "Nordoer Heide") are a nature reserve and popular recreation area for Itzehoe and the surrounding area. This is a former military training area of the nearby former Nordoe barracks, on whose site a residential area has now been developed. You can still find various remnants of the former military use here. The bridge leads over the freight line to Lägerdorf.

Beautiful path along the canal - very lonely area - but beautiful! It was pleasantly warm here in mid-September - on the path in the open meadows in front of the canal there was a cool wind - here by the canal it was calm. No snakes anywhere in sight, no mosquitoes. Tall grass - yes - but still fun to drive along. A little adventure...

The water tower, built in 1902, is a circular building with a height of 35.8 m. The shaft is made of bricks. The tower is only slightly wider in the tank area. This is because a Barkhausen tank was used instead of an Intze tank. It is topped off with a conical roof with a transmitting antenna on top.
