At the central market square

The Zwickau town hall from 1403, with its late Gothic St. James's Chapel, cross-ribbed vaults and Renaissance arched portal, has been preserved in its original condition to this day.

Triangular old market The triangular old market in Kirchberg has existed since the city was founded in 1212 and is still paved with natural cobblestones from the surrounding quarries. It forms the center of the city and, together with the surrounding residential buildings, is the oldest part of the city. For example, many baroque details have been preserved and are now listed buildings. Every year on the first weekend in October, it offers the perfect setting for the Old Town Festival and the Christmas market on the first Sunday of Advent. The town hall received its neo-Gothic façade in 1866/67. Above the main entrance you can see the Zwickau city coat of arms in its large form. After a two-year renovation and reconstruction phase, the entire building has been shining in new splendor since 2011.
