Fojos are ancient wolf traps. This animal, now protected, was persecuted for centuries due to the fear it instilled in mountain dwellers through its association with the afterlife and its attacks on grazing animals. These structures, now considered cultural heritage, are found only in the north of the Iberian Peninsula. The Misarela Bridge, also known as the Devil's Bridge or the Bridge of Hell (we'll explain why below), is one of the most interesting monuments in the North of Portugal.
