Peanut Leap Cascade Park is a picturesque, nestled in the Palisades Interstate Park, with breathtaking views of the Hudson River. There is a 2.8-mile trail that winds through historic ruins, rocky cliffs, and a lovely waterfall. As you descend to the cascade, the sound of rushing water and the surrounding wilderness make for a great escape away from the busy city.

This section of the New York State Bike Route is a popular stretch, especially around the Tappan Zee Bridge. It attracts many cyclists on weekends.

Nyack Beach State Park features a flat, two-mile multi-use path along the Hudson River, which is also part of the Hudson River Valley Greenway. The Nyack River Trail offers scenic views with the river on one side and the towering Palisades cliffs on the other. It is open for biking, walking, fishing, and cross-country skiing in the winter. The park is part of a larger network of parks including Rockland Lake, Hook Mountain, and Haverstraw Beach State Parks.

Very popular stretch here that leads to and from the Tappan Zee. Gets lots of cyclists on weekends when the weather is good.

As of June 2024, this stretch of rail trail is rather smooth with the exception of some cracking and bumps here and there. Felt fine on 25mm road tires — the whole rail trail is very rideable.

Nice out and back hike from the interstate lookout. Full loop is more challenging and takes double the time.
