Located at the confluence of Hominy Creek and the French Broad River, this park offers a wide range of recreation opportunities. For runners, it has access to the western stretch of the French Broad River Greenway, an excellent path to log a few miles with the river at your side.

The French Broad River Greenway runs along the East and West bank of the river. It's paved, relatively flat, and connects various parks to each other. If you like to run with a view this is a good choice.

This lake on the outskirts of Asheville is a great place to go for a trail run without travelling too far. With the water at your side it's easy to forget that you aren't in a city. Each lap is almost exactly two miles so it's easy to keep track of your distance.

French Broad River Park in Asheville, NC, is a scenic riverside park along the French Broad River Greenway. It features a well-maintained dog park, picnic areas with tables and grills, open grassy spaces for various recreational activities, and great views of the river. On hot summer days you can often see people tubing, kayaking, and boating down the river. The park is part of the French Broad River Greenway, a paved, relatively flat, picturesque walking and biking trail along the water that connects various parks to each other.

Bad Fork Trail follows along the banks of Bad Fork flowing down into Wash Creek. This section of trail is beautiful, and the water washes out any noise coming from the parkway. Keep in mind that Bad Fork Trail is downhill on the way out, meaning the whole way back is uphill.

There are a lot of tunnels on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the Pine Mountain Tunnel is the longest, spanning 1,434 feet. It runs through the hillside of Pine Mountain and the Mountains-to-Sea Trail.

Stony Bald View is a lookout area on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Located at mile marker 402.6, the observation area is at 3,750 feet overlooking Stony Bald at 4,563 feet.
