The Bosbaan, built in 1937, is the oldest artificial rowing course in the world and a popular place for rowing training and competitions. From the shore near the restaurant you can often see rowers training hard or competing here. Follow the paths along the water to experience the activity up close, or walk further into the Amsterdamse Bos for a peaceful walk through nature.

Unfortunately we didn't see any. What a pity!

The lake was greatly enlarged through sand mining from the middle of the 20th century. The sand obtained was used to raise the Western Garden Cities of Amsterdam. Now the lake is about 35 meters deep. https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nieuwe_Meer_(water) All kinds of water sports are possible here.

Good place to rest and/or enjoy the view over the Amsterdam forest

Beautiful large park forest with lots of water and grassy meadows. Lots of cycle paths, sometimes winding, with very different quality of the asphalt. Don't forget the part south of the A9, much quieter and with some nice gravel paths.

Beautiful place with a beautiful view over the Bosbaan, which also has a fast cycle path. Can be quite busy on weekends with good weather.

If you take a close look around here in the Oberländer Park, you will surely discover them.
