This is one of the loops in Jackrabbit area that goes closer to the lake, a mostly flat trail to enjoy a walk between trees and Lake Chatuge. There are many intersectiosn between the trails, so you can choose your own path and make your hike as long or as short as you like.

Somehow, this picnic table is in the lake, constantly surrounded by water (unless it is really dry). It is simply a funny sight between the two great mountain biking loops in the area.

Chestnut Mountain is another worthy peak to summit in this range, with an elevation maxing out at over 3,800 feet.

Dicks Knob rises over 4,200 feet, so you'll know you've worked by the time you reach this summit.

The trail to Track Rock Gap Petroglyphs is for foot traffic only, but riders would be remiss not to visit the site near this parking lot either before or after their rides. Though recently partially damaged by irreverent parties, the Track Rock Gap petroglyphs still deserve your time and consideration (maybe even more so, considering the recent disrespect they endured). The "bald" was chosen as an ideal site for an observatory that is open to visitors, and the views will certainly not disappoint if the weather is favorable.
