The Brush Creek Trail is a paved, multiuse trail that runs along the creek of the same name. It is considered an easy trail, as there is not much elevation gain and the surface is great.

The Longview Lake Trail is a popular nature trail that runs alongside Longview Lake. The trail is made of crushed stone and well-maintained.

Longview Lake is a 930-acre body of water near Kansas City. It has a beach and is a popular place for boating. There are also picnic shelters and restrooms.

This lake is a peaceful stop along the Blue River Greenway Trail, which has its southern terminus at nearby Minor Park.

The Mirror Pool, situated between W 61st Terrace and W 62nd Street along Ward Parkway, covers almost the entire median block. As part of a beautification effort along the parkway in 1924, its initial purpose of a reflecting pool also became a place for miniature boating and ice skating. The north end of the Mirror Pool features a commemorative plaque that recognizes the American Planning Association's designation of Ward Parkway as a Great Street through Great Places in America in 2012.

Troost Lake is a small reservoir located within Troost Lake Park. The park is nestled in a charming neighborhood district in Kansas City and is a lovely spot to ride past along the Paseo Bikeway.

The Minor Park Trailhead is a great access point for trails along Blue River. The park, which used to be a private farm, has tennis courts, picnic tables, and river access. Minor Park is along the historic Oregon Trail, Santa Fe Trail, and California Trails. This is where the first major river crossing took place for westward travelers – keep an eye out for historic signposts and wagon ruts. Little Blue Trail Park is one of several trail heads for the Little Blue Trace Trail. There is parking and some picnic areas, so it is a great place for a break or to finish your outing on the trail.
