Watchman Campground is the closest campground to Zion National Park. You have to reserve a spot well in advance, since it is booked on a regular basis. Peak season is from March through end of November. The campground has toilets and water, but no showers. You can take the free shuttle into park. A tent only-site starts at 20 Dollars, there are also spots for RV with electricity. Reserve a spot: recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/232445

The site is very good, but get there early. Early is before 8, otherwise, you might struggle with parking. The view is open and with the sunrise, the light drop on the canyon and the mountains make it a good view point.

It's best to park here or at the museum, as only park buses are allowed into the larger part where most hikes start. I would also recommend getting there as early as possible, as it fills up quickly, parking is difficult, and the paths are also crowded.

Great view from Emerald Pools Trail of the valley and the Virgin River. This is a great place along the trail to take a quick break to enjoy the peaceful setting.

Cycling through the tunnel is not permitted due to its narrowness. However, if you wait a while you can usually catch a ride through the tunnel with other park visitors.
