State Game Lands Number 38 is a 5,577 acre area of protected land. The land is open to the public for hunting, bird watching and hiking. There are miles of trails that cut through the park and several lakes.

Grass Lake is a beautiful lake in Tannersville Bog. There is a nice trail that runs along the lake and gives you great views of the water.

This area encompasses more than 90 acres of forest, open fields, and a variety of wildflowers. It features steep trails that lead to panoramic views of Barrett Township. One of the best times to visit is in the fall, when the leaves begin to change colors, making for a spectacular sight.

This is a relatively smaller lake, but most of the time, you'll find it full of life with people swimming, kayaking, and a wide variety of wildlife around the area. There's a nice trail that encircles the lake, offering views of the entire lake.

Big Pocono State Park offers stunning panoramic views and diverse recreational opportunities. Positioned on Camelback Mountain, the park provides a vantage point for breathtaking vistas of the Pocono Mountains and beyond. Besides multiple hiking trails, you can find picnic areas nearby to take a break.

This section of the Appalachian Trail leads along the Delaware River and passes multiple little ponds and creeks on its way. While hiking along the trail, you will find various great viewpoints to take a look at the river and the surrounding landscape.

Eureka Creek runs right across the Appalachian Trail and into the Delaware River, where the state line for Pennsylvania and New Jersey lies. Here hikers can fill up water to be filtered, and the small stream must be crossed. Hikers can find some small waterfalls along the creek within the rhododendron jungle.

Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area is a protected national recreation area along the Delaware River in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Over a length of 64 km there is an impressive landscape in the middle of a densely populated region with a natural river course, forests, lakes and the mountain gap, the Delaware Water Gap, in the south where the river flows between the 'Blue Mountain' and 'Kittatinny Mountain' ' breaks through. Since the 1930s there have been plans to build a dam on the Delaware River at Tocks Island. The reservoir should be 64 km long and approximately 1.6 km wide. Over the decades, the local population was relocated and the land was acquired by the federal government. From the mid-1960s onwards, resistance to the plans began to emerge. Finally in 1975 the project was canceled due to environmental concerns and costs. The land was handed over to the National Park Service for management, and the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, originally intended as an area around the reservoir, became a 283 square km park along the natural river.
