Generally flat terrain with small boulders on the trail. There are a few areas where rain water will stay around on the trail.

This is not an easy hike. It is high angle with many smaller boulders. You need to take care. But it is going to be a fun afternoon. The State Park is well looked after.

A slight detour off the East Trail takes you to this super cool rock formation. It is a cave that has opened up, leaving a curved wall with indents and interesting marks. It is a great spot to stop and cool down in the summer months as well.

Lost Maples State Natural Area is famous for the bright fall foliage of its bigtooth maples. It's a great place for recreation in any season, though, with lots of opportunities for hiking; lake, creek, and river fishing; camping; stargazing and wildlife watching.

Birds Eye View is an awesome overlook in Lost Maples State Natural Area. The overlook is just off the side of the East Trail. There is a super, super short spur trail that leads to the valley and canyon viewpoint.
